A Dark and Stormy Night

A Dark and Stormy Night is episode seven of the third season of the Sullivan Entertainment long-form television series Road to Avonlea (1990–1996) and episode 33 overall. It first aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on 23 February 1992 and on the Disney Channel on 6 April 1992. It was written by Hart Hanson and directed by Allan King. It was preceded by “Another Point of View” and followed by “Friends and Relations.”

This episode stars series regulars Sarah Polley (Sara Stanley), Jackie Burroughs (Hetty King), Mag Ruffman (Olivia Dale), Zachary Bennett (Felix King), and Gema Zamprogna (Felicity King); absent from this episode are series regulars Cedric Smith (Alec King) and Lally Cadeau (Janet King). Guest stars include Christopher Reeve (Robert Rutherford), John Neville (Percy Methley), Michael Mahonen (Gus Pike), and Louise Vallance (Amanda Stone).

A novelization by Gail Hamilton, as volume 25 of the Road to Avonlea book series, was published in 1994.
