Modern Times

Modern Times is episode three of the fifth season of the Sullivan Entertainment long-form television series Road to Avonlea (1990–1996) and the fifty-fifth episode overall. It first aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on 16 January 1994 and on the Disney Channel on 14 March 1994 (where it aired out of order as the second episode of season five). It was written by Charles Lazer and directed by F. Harvey Frost. It was preceded by “Memento Mori” and followed by “A Friend in Need.”

This episode stars series regulars Jackie Burroughs (Hetty King), Mag Ruffman (Olivia Dale), Gema Zamprogna (Felicity King), Lally Cadeau (Janet King), and Cedric Smith (Alec King); absent from this episode are series regulars Sarah Polley (Sara Stanley) and Zachary Bennett (Felix King). Guest stars include R.H. Thomson (Jasper Dale), Michael Mahonen (Gus Pike), Ray Jewers (Mr. Ambrose), Richard McMillan (Lionel Lester), and Heath Lamberts (Rackham).
