Thursday’s Child

Thursday’s Child is episode nine of the fifth season of the Sullivan Entertainment long-form television series Road to Avonlea (1990–1996) and the sixty-first episode overall. It first aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on 27 February 1994 and on the Disney Channel on 28 November 1994. It was written by Heather Conkie and directed by F. Harvey Frost. It was preceded by “Strictly Melodrama” and followed by “Best Laid Plans.”

This episode stars series regulars Jackie Burroughs (Hetty King), Mag Ruffman (Olivia Dale), Zachary Bennett (Felix King), Gema Zamprogna (Felicity King), Lally Cadeau (Janet King), and Cedric Smith (Alec King); absent from this episode is series regular Sarah Polley (Sara Stanley). Guest stars include Patricia Hamilton (Rachel Lynde), Marilyn Lightstone (Muriel Stacey), Kay Tremblay (Great Aunt Eliza), Brenda Bazinet (Dr. Jones), Ian D. Clark (Simon Tremayne), Graham McPherson (Dr. Snow), and Harmony Cramp (Cecily King).

This is the last episode to feature Harmony Cramp as Cecily King. Beginning the following season, the role was played by Molly Atkinson.
