How Kissing Was Discovered is episode two of the second season of the Sullivan Entertainment long-form television series Road to Avonlea (1990–1996) and episode 15 overall. It first aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on 9 December 1990 and on the Disney Channel on 8 April 1991. It was written by Suzette Couture and directed by Stuart Gillard. It was preceded by “Sara’s Homecoming” and followed by “Aunt Hetty’s Ordeal.”

This episode stars series regulars Sarah Polley (Sara Stanley), Gema Zamprogna (Felicity King), Zachary Bennett (Felix King), Lally Cadeau (Janet King), and Cedric Smith (Alec King); absent from this episode are series regulars Jackie Burroughs (Hetty King) and Mag Ruffman (Olivia King). Guest stars include Kay Tremblay (Aunt Eliza), Greg Spottiswood (David Hawes), and Michael Mahonen (Gus Pike).
