The Great Race is episode six of the fifth season of the Sullivan Entertainment long-form television series Road to Avonlea (1990–1996) and the fifty-eighth episode overall. It first aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on 6 February 1994 and on the Disney Channel on 7 November 1994 (where it aired out of order as the eighth episode of season five). It was written by Rick Drew and directed by Stefan Scaini. It was preceded by “Stranger in the Night” and followed by “Someone to Believe In.”
This episode stars series regulars Zachary Bennett (Felix King), Lally Cadeau (Janet King), and Cedric Smith (Alec King); absent from this episode are series regulars Sarah Polley (Sara Stanley), Jackie Burroughs (Hetty King), Mag Ruffman (Olivia Dale), and Gema Zamprogna (Felicity King). Guest stars include David Fox (Clive Pettibone), Zachary Ansley (Arthur Pettibone), Ian D.
