Strictly Melodrama

Strictly Melodrama is episode eight of the fifth season of the Sullivan Entertainment long-form television series Road to Avonlea (1990–1996) and the sixtieth episode overall. It first aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on 30 January 1994 (where it aired out of order as the fifth episode of season five) and on the Disney Channel on 21 November 1994. It was written by Yan Moore and directed by Allan Kroeker. It was preceded by “Someone to Believe In” and followed by “Thursday’s Child.”

This episode stars series regulars Jackie Burroughs (Hetty King), Mag Ruffman (Olivia Dale), Zachary Bennett (Felix King), Gema Zamprogna (Felicity King), Lally Cadeau (Janet King), and Cedric Smith (Alec King); absent from this episode is series regular Sarah Polley (Sara Stanley). Guest stars include Linda Sorensen (Isabelle Carrington), Patricia Hamilton (Rachel Lynde),Kay Tremblay (Great Aunt Eliza), Marilyn Lightstone (Muriel Stacey), Ian D. Clark (Simon Tremayne), and Corinne Conley (Eleanor McHugh).
