Best Laid Plans

Best Laid Plans is episode ten of the fifth season of the Sullivan Entertainment long-form television series Road to Avonlea (1990–1996) and the sixty-second episode overall. It first aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on 6 March 1994 and on the Disney Channel on 5 December 1994. It was written by Deborah Nathan and directed by Eleanore Lindo. It was preceded by “Thursday’s Child” and followed by “Otherwise Engaged.”

This episode stars series regulars Jackie Burroughs (Hetty King), Mag Ruffman (Olivia Dale), and Zachary Bennett (Felix King); absent from this episode are series regulars Sarah Polley (Sara Stanley), Gema Zamprogna (Felicity King), Lally Cadeau (Janet King), and Cedric Smith (Alec King). Guest stars include R.H. Thomson (playing the dual roles of Jasper Dale and Jeremiah Dale), Ian D. Clark (Simon Tremayne), Benedict Campbell (Duncan McBean), and Kyle Labine (Davey Keith).
