Lonely Hearts is episode two of the sixth season of the Sullivan Entertainment long-form television series Road to Avonlea (1990–1996) and the sixty-seventh episode overall. It first aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation on 15 January 1995 (as part of a double header with the preceding episode, “The Return of Gus Pike”) and on the Disney Channel on 2 October 1994 (where it aired as the season premiere). It was written by Marlene Matthews and directed by Graeme Lynch. It was preceded by “The Return of Gus Pike” and followed by “Christmas in June.”
This episode stars series regulars Jackie Burroughs (Hetty King), Zachary Bennett (Felix King), Cedric Smith (Alec King), and Lally Cadeau (Janet King); absent from this episode are series regulars Mag Ruffman (Olivia Dale) and Gema Zamprogna (Felicity King). Guest stars include Marilyn Lightstone (Muriel Stacey), Ian D.
