The Gable Window

The Gable Window is a poem that L.M. Montgomery published in The Ladies’ Journal, a Toronto periodical, likely in its April 1897 issue. In July 2017, it was selected by Project Bookmark Canada, an organization that celebrates Canadian literature, by commemorating the locations in which stories and poems are set, for the first bookmark in Prince Edward Island, with an unveiling at the location of Montgomery’s Cavendish home, where she was raised by her maternal grandparents, on 24 June 2018. The poem appears in A World of Songs: Selected Poems, 1894–1921.
