The Gay Days of Old is a short memoir that appeared in the 15 December 1919 issue of Farmers’ Magazine, a Toronto periodical, with the following subhead: “A Well-Known Author’s Reminiscences of Her Girlhood on a Canadian Farm.” The memoir is reprinted in The L.M. Montgomery Reader, Volume 1: A Life in Print.
