When the Fishing Boats Come In is a poem that L.M. Montgomery published in The Weekly Bouquet, a Boston periodical, presumably in its January 1899 issue. This version was reprinted, unsigned, in several newspapers later that year and in East and West: A Paper for Young Canadians, a Toronto periodical, in 1910. It also appears in A World of Songs: Selected Poems, 1894–1921.
