Illustration, in a campy, 1970s cartoon style, of a young girl wearing a purple nightgown and sitting on a bed, looking down as she writes in notebook on her lap. A spotted cat sleeps at the foot of the bed.

The Event

After a summer hiatus, Conversations About L.M. Montgomery returns for a seventh event: a round table discussion of Emily of New Moon, which we recently finished reading on the L.M. Montgomery Readathon. Each of the three speakers will discuss a specific aspect of this complex novel as a way to jumpstart a conversation about its importance and appeal: Brenton D.G. Dickieson on the recent audiobook version narrated by Megan Follows, E. Holly Pike on age values, and Kate Sutherland on lessons in law.
